Ascending Leadership Workshop Series, Begins June 11th, 2026
This series of 6 workshops is designed for ascending leaders and those looking to become the leaders they want to be. This workshop series is done as a cohort format so we can network and build diverse relationships. Each session is approximately 3.5 hours and held on a bi-weekly basis. Additionally, you get a free 1:1 Coaching session with James to discuss your future goals and ask questions about leadership. This cohort will begin on Thursday, June 11th, 2026. The remaining dates will be June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd, August 6th, and August 20th. Sessions begin at 8:30am, and end around 12pm, and will be held at Workhorse Coworking, 123 2nd Ave. S Suite 230 Edmonds, WA 98020. You will also receive a free day pass to Workhorse Coworking space to try out their workspaces.
Throughout these workshops, we work as a group to explore the foundations of leadership, team building, team culture, coaching for success, develop a personalized leadership philosophy, and how to find a space for renewal. Each of these sessions focuses on finding your personal leadership values and is guided by group discussion, activities and experiences, and includes self-reflective homework.
Session 1: Deconstructing Leadership; In this session we breakdown what leadership is and what it means to us personally. Through activities and group discussion we take a deconstruct-reconstruct approach to analyze leadership values, traits, and styles to determine what they could be missing, and how we can reconstruct them to be more inclusive and effective.
Session 2: Team Building; Great leaders build great teams that trust and support each other. Building upon your personal values and leadership from the first session, we learn how to apply that to building meaningful connections with our teammates. Using a few psychology tips and how engaging in small talk builds relationships, trust, and collaboration. (Some activities in this session require walking short distances and accommodations can be made if needed)
Session 3: Team Culture; We take team building and leadership to the next level by establishing our team culture. Every organization has its own culture, and so can our teams. This session is about setting up expectations, recognizing the wisdom of the group, sincere appreciation, and taking responsibility.
Session 4: Coaching Effectively; With leadership comes the need for both positive and difficult conversations. Effective coaching strengthens our capacity to motivate our teams and allows us to provide productive feedback to support an individual’s growth. We will learn techniques for giving feedback, understanding other perspectives, and practice real world coaching scenarios.
Session 5: Leadership Philosophy; This is where we start bringing everything together. A leadership philosophy is you guiding statement for your personal leadership. It sums up who we want to be as leaders and helps guide our actions in the future. We will utilize our notes and worksheets from each session and work we did at home to create our personal leadership philosophy.
Session 6: Finding Renewal; Leadership can be hard and even stressful. We spend a lot of our time supporting others and helping our team, but we need to make sure we find a space to renew ourselves and our leadership. For this session we take more of a retreat approach to come together as a cohort to appreciate one another, build each other up to head back out into the world, and share some ways to ground or selves when things get a little chaotic.
**Please note that there needs to be a minimum or 6 individuals signed up for the cohort. If the minimum is not met, we will reschedule to allow more people to join, or the series will be canceled, and a refund will be provided.
